Third Grade News - January 19, 2018

What we have done:
With being gone for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and three snow days, we have moved this week’s lessons to next week.  Today we were able to work on our animal informational writing.  Also today, students started deciding who they would like to research for a Famous Missourian.    More information about the Famous Missourian paper, project and wax museum will be coming home   next week.

ELA:
In writing we will finish publishing animal paper while we start to research Famous Missourians.   Also students will be learning about adverbs and how an adverb describes a verb.

Math:
We will be taking a mid-module exam over multiplication and division.

Content:
Continue working on PBL about Famous Missourians.

Important Dates:
February 15 - Famous Missourian Wax Museum 6-6:45pm K-8 Cafeteria

How you can help!
Please encourage your child to practice their addition, subtraction and multiplication facts.
Knowing fact families with addition and subtraction like 8 + 7 = 15 so 15 - 8 = 7
Also knowing multiplication facts will help your child with division too  6 X 7 = 42 so 42 ÷ 7 = 6
Your child can practice their facts at home with online games, flashcards, and quizzes!
