Third Grade News - February 23, 2018

What we have done:
This week we have been working on how to find the area of different squares and rectangles. In ELA, we read and discussed the book Pink and Say. In writing, we continued to work on our Famous Missourian projects.

ELA:
Our mentor text will still be Pink and Say by Patricia Polacco. We will be learning about point of view. We will look at each characters point of view within the book. We will share our informational writing for our Famous Missourian projects. Since it is Dr. Seuss week, we will also read several of his books.

Math:   
We will continue to work on finding area of shapes.  We will also learn how to find the area of two rectangles that are connected.

Content:
Students will start to learn about how Missouri became a state and how the Civil War began.

Monday- Hat Day
Tuesday- PJ Day
Wednesday- Wacky Clothes Day
Thursday- Crazy Hair Day
Friday- Crazy Socks

How you can help! 
Continue to work on multiplication facts and strategies.
Zearn.org is a wonderful website that gives the students extra practice on the math lessons they have learned.
Xtramath is a great resource for fact fluency.
