Third Grade News - March 23, 2018

What we have done:
In math, we have worked with fractions. We have been writing fractions for the parts of the shape that are shaded and not shaded. In ELA, we have talked about verb tenses and worked on our opinion writing. We have finished up our unit on the Civil War and took an assessment today.

This Coming Week:
ELA:
Our mentor text this week is We the Kids which discusses the Bill of Rights. We will be working on understanding what the Bill of Rights are and writing one for our classroom. The students will work on main idea and details and their opinion writing.

Math:   
We will continue to work on fractions. We will be discussing fractions greater than 1 and comparing fractions.
Content:
We have integrated content into ELA this week learning about the Bill of Rights and Constitution since we do not have school on Friday.


Important Dates:
Literacy Night - 6:00-7:00 March 27th in the FEMA
No School - Friday March 30th
Picture Day - April 5th
