Third Grade News - February 2, 2018

What we have done:
This week we started working on research for our Famous Missourian project.   In math we continued practicing multiplying with 9’s and added two step-word problems. In ELA, we read, “My Rotten, Redheaded, Older Brother” and learned about problem and solution.. We had fun creating our own “solutions” to the story. Third grade also worked on identifying adjectives in books and how to use them in our writing.

ELA:
In writing, we will continue Famous Missourians publishing and working on our projects.  We will also be learning about text features of non-fiction books.

Math:
We will be multiplying using 10’s and add in two-step word problems. At the end of the week we will take a test!

Zearn.org is a wonderful website that gives the students extra practice on the math lessons they have learned.
Xtramath is a great resource for fact fluency.
As we continue to work on famous Missourians encourage your child to      tell you about the different facts they are learning about their person.
